Today, the first shipment of aged whiskey barrels arrived at B.H. James Distillers to become one of the first releases of Burton James Uniquely American Whiskey. In 2015, owner Shawn McCormick started purchasing small quantities of new fill American whiskey to allow it to age and be ready when he was able to fulfill his dream of opening a distillery in his family’s hometown of Adairville, KY. Each barrel of 6 to 7 year old whiskey will be tasted, and McCormick will begin making small blends until he finds the right combination to marry and create a unique and enjoyable expression of American whiskey.
